(SPOILER ALERT! The following is a synopsis of the fourth episode of 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉-𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔, the ongoing story for Season Two of the Dark Corners podcast.)
Laura and Daniel take a picnic snack up to the ruins where Laura had wanted to investigate a bit further. Their hike takes them past the cornfield and through the pumpkin patch where the vines now have dozens of brilliant yellow flowers. A black cat startles them as it emerges from the vines with something horrible writhing in its mouth. Daniel puts out of his mind that the object looked like a small hand.
As they snack on crackers and wine, Laura asks Daniel to get some fruit from the basket. He retrieves an apple and once again is cut by a razor blade. The couple run through various possibilities of how the razor blade could have gotten there, dismissing the idea that either of them did it. They find the idea that someone was stalking them and planting the apples as far-fetched, and Laura says given what they had experienced before in the factory that she can not rule out the possibility of a paranormal explanation.
A sudden storm forces them to take cover in the portion of the factory that has a ceiling, and in addition to the thunder, they hear the ghostly footsteps once again walking above them on the iron catwalk. This time they also hear a voice say, “You’ve come at last.” The champagne bottle breaks behind them and the black cat surfaces again. They follow the cat to one of the workrooms in the factory where amidst the debris they find hundreds of bones, children’s bones.
