(SPOILER ALERT! The following is a synopsis of the sixth episode of 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉-𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔, the ongoing story for Season Two of the Dark Corners podcast.)

Stan Kobritz, son of the the Maria Bay sheriff, takes Brandi up to the site of the old Black Cat Toy Factory on a scary first date. They park near the Thompson barn and walk up through the cornfields, past the pumpkin marsh, and through a patch of pine woods to reach the ruins with only the light from Stan’s phone to guide them through the darkness.

Despite hearing rustling in the cornfields and a menacing growl in the woods, they push on to the factory where the sound of footsteps descending towards them from the mezzanine frightens Brandi enough to cause her to leave Stan and run back to the car.

On her way back, Brandi first sees frightening costumed figures on her path that include someone in a bear suit, a masked ballerina, and two giggling clowns. Brandi hurries on into the pumpkin marsh where more rustling in the leaves quickens her step until a black cat carrying something in its mouth darts across her path. Brandi’s way through the cornfield is then blocked by a crawling corpse which forces her to leave the path and run through the dark cornstalks. She sees scarecrow stands, some of which are empty while others have corpses hanging on them like the crawling horror she saw on the path. The sound of many figures chasing her through the cornstalks motivates her to run blindly in hopes of somehow breaking out of the field near the barn, which she does.

Brandi runs to Stan’s car, but then sees in the moonlight that there is another scarecrow stand erected near the entrance to the path they had used to get to the factory. A figure hangs on the stand and Brandi tries futilely to get into the locked car before it can get to her. She hides briefly on the other side of the car, but then when she does not appear to be threatened, she peers through the windows of the car and sees that the figure on the scarecrow stand has not moved. Slowly she approaches the stand and sees that the crucified figure on the structure is Stan.

The sound of the creatures that had been chasing her recedes into the cornstalks.
